Vitamin We #5: Liberating Power of Art

Bright Colors, Deep Emotions, Faith & SychroDestiny

Hi everyone!

This week we are diving into the power of art!

Art is a way of life - and what keeps us sane, won’t you agree?

The more intense our e-motions are - our pleasure, passion, pain - the more we crave a healthy outlet for these “energies in motion” to be channeled, transmuted, and released.

Each art piece may or may not be replicated; Because how we are feeling at that particular moment in life, even with a similar wave of emotion, is not exactly the same.

And when we bring an intention to spend time just be with art, art can be that powerful catalyst to liberate and heal us in return.

Today’s feature stories are real-life showcases of the power of art in bringing potent transformations to our lives.

Happy Reading 🫶

» Reflecting on personal traits, expressions and energy dynamics that are less celebrated in our world today, but essential for our inner balance regardless of gender, and for us to build a peaceful world for future generations.

Receptivity In Merriam-Webster.com

  1. Able or inclined to receive

especially: Open and responsive to ideas, impressions, or suggestions

  2. Fit to receive and transmit stimuli

Do you consider yourself an open-minded person? Do you have a beginner’s mind?

The prerequisite of receptivity is to be curious about the world around us.

Be open and willing to receive. Help. Guidance. Suggestions. References. New Perspectives. Referrals. Redirections. Clues & Signposts.

One of the easiest ways to increase our receptivity is through asking questions.

Big questions. Weird questions. What would ______(some wise humans you admire) do in this situation? Asking someone who thinks very differently than our echo chambers.

Then wait for signs. Muses. Insights. Red Flags. Synchronicity. Clues that come just in time. Expect puzzle pieces🧩 to be dropped, and follow the breadcrumbs.

Accept that we are not always right; and at the same time, we are not delegating our decision-making by depending on the external neither. Asking questions not to expect answers, but just perspectives that we might have missed. That balance is an art ⚖️.

Another way to increase our receptivity is by throwing ourselves into immersive experiences, like making art.

Especially when we feel like we are in the middle of a standstill, an intersection point of our life where we don’t know which way to go next; Our minds are overwhelmed, and a full cup is hard to have further intake.

Use art as the channel to drop ourselves into the process of creating, to empty our cups via releasing intense emotions and self-consciousness, and allow the universal intelligence to sprinkle us with insights while we are sitting in the eye👁️ of the storm, observing everything in happening.

Feature Stories
» We feature personal stories from creative souls every week! Feel called to contribute one? Check out how!

Often times the most powerful force that brings change is not visible by our bare eyes, but they exist - Like love, divine intelligence, and the liberating, healing power of art🤩!

Story #1: “Bright Colors and Deep Emotions: The Liberating Power of Art”

By Shreya Bhan - An artist & designer from India, based in London. She has worked in the fashion industry for 11 years, but the pandemic has since pushed her to share her art with the world (for good!)

“I started on this journey in 2019, when during the pandemic, I started sketching on my Ipad.

Something about it was so liberating. I was going through a lot in my personal life (still am) and felt crippled when I had to express myself in words, but what became my strongest tool was creating art.

My focus has always been on expressing difficult and deep emotions with the help of bright colours so that the message is easy to absorb for anyone looking at it. And hoping that it leaves them with a slight sense of happiness.

My work was recently shown at Times Square as a part of the NFT NYC event and I couldn't help but cry looking at how far I have come but also how much more I need to do.

A few things I have learnt on this journey are never to be scared to learn something new; it never goes to waste. You deserve the love and accolades. The universe is not separate from you, so when you trust yourself, you are trusting the universe.

And lastly, always share your story as it might motivate someone else to take that leap of faith.”

» YES!!! Congratulations Shreya on your recent art display at NYC Times Square, and thank you for sharing your story and the motivating power that you have with us! 💪

Story #2: “Having Sailor in Our Life Really Opens Our Eyes”

By Jarrett Vaughan - Crypto & Marketing Professor; Co-Founder of Digibuddies - An advocacy through Digital Collectibles, inspired by their 8-year-old daughter, Sailor's love for art.

If we were going to GIVE our children a life worth fighting for - we needed, as parents, to teach them and show them that we CAN do hard things and we CAN make a difference.

Ashley & Jarrett Vaughan

“We remember the moment well; it was March 18 2015 our daughter Sailor was born - she came out of the womb very twisted with many physical deformities, it was a complete shock to us.

She had her first spinal surgery at 2 days old. The 2 neurosurgeons then brought us into a small windowless room with many boxes of tissues; they then told us that they did not understand what was wrong with our daughter - they didn’t know what diagnosis to give her - we came to learn she was paralyzed and they began to paint a picture of her life, years and years of doctor appointments, surgeries, specialists, and therapies - they anticipated what she could and couldn’t do - it’s wild how in a single moment dreams and expectations with a family can be shattered.

Over the next few days, we grieved the loss of what we thought our life would look like - but after some time we decided together that we were going to have to choose to THRIVE and not just survive…

If we were going to GIVE our children a life worth fighting for - we needed, as parents, to teach them and show them that we CAN do hard things and we CAN make a difference.

Having Sailor in our life really opens our eyes - she has taught us the importance of advocacy, accessibility and inclusion. Through Sailor, we became really aware of the struggles and limitations of our world - limitations that are put on people because they are not “typical.”

In the last 7 years Sailor has had 18 surgeries, she has always bounced back stronger - but what has brought her most healing and joy post-surgeries is drawing; she loves to create art.

Recently we were on the cusp of yet another surgery that would require 2 to 3 months of staying in the hospital and in traction - we shared with a friend our concerns about keeping our daughter busy and happy...

Our friend shared her passion for investing in NFT collections created by underrepresented people.

From there, this project was birthed…

So we thought, let’s take her love of drawing animals and creating them into NFTs and beyond, that taking these digital art buddies and creating them into a video game that brings education and awareness into our world about the challenges that many face, but most of us do not understand.

Since we started this project, we have received interest and encouragement from such organizations as Dapper Labs and Flow block chain; they have been instrumental in their encouragement of our development and ideas.

So come and learn about how we can empower lives through digital collectibles - Discover Digibuddies.”

» Ashley & Jarrett are our fellow HetchHUG mates and every time we hear about Sailor, her bravery and strength, as well as that of her parents, pulls our heartstrings💞.

If Sailor is making art, what on earth is stopping you from remembering the artist that you were born to be? :)

SynchroDestiny: Harnessing the Infinite Power of Coincidence to Create Miracles

by Deepak Chopra

Do you believe that miracles happen every day? This classic suggests that the more you recognize everyday miracles, the more often they will happen in your life!

(The above is an affiliate link that will generate a commission for Women's entrance, which we will reinvest in the community!)

DEEPAK CHOPRA™ MD, FACP, is the founder of The Chopra Foundation & Chopra Global and a world-renowned pioneer in integrative medicine and personal transformation. He is also involved in web3 as the co-founder of Seva.Love !

This book is a deep, philosophical exploration of how life works, using a scientific basis (mainly quantum physics and neuroscience) for the understanding of synchronicity and the spontaneous fulfillment of desire.

While I’m trying my best to capture the more digestible takeaways here, I highly recommend you to have this book, sit with it, and don’t rush to finish through the pages, as this is the kind of classic that not only gives you a learning program through the pages but also offer you new insights and elevation of understanding every time when you re-read it.

3 Key Takeaways -

Idea #1 We, as creatives, are the genius translators of possibilities:

All great artists and creatives transcend their individual identities when they create. All creative processes depend on a phase of incubation and allowing. For example, a great song is not born when the musicians are thinking about royalties when they are writing a song 😁

According to Chopra,

All creativity is based on quantum leaps and uncertainty.

At particular moments in time, truly noval ideas emanate from the collective bed of information. These ideas did not originate in the fortunate individual but in the collective consciousness.

This is why significant scientific discoveries are often made by two or more different people at the same time...(and) the prepared minds are ready to translate that information. This is the nature of genius, to be able to grasp the knowable even when no one else recognizes that it is present. (P.84)

Idea #2 The nature of the soul:

An analogy that is used sparingly throughout the book is that we as humans are never separated, just like a wave is never separated from the vastness of the ocean.

This vast, unending ocean of possibility is the essence of everything in the physical world. And the soul is the observer of all that is happening. Our souls are the reflections of all souls; without the other, we would not exist.

The soul (in definition) is the confluence of meanings, contexts, relationships, and mythical stories or archetypal themes that give rise to everyday thoughts, memories, and desires (conditioned by karma) that create the stories in which we participate...

In nearly everyone, this participation in the stories of our lives is happening automatically, without awareness. We live like actors in a play who are given only one line at a time, going through the motions without understanding the full story. But when you get in touch with your soul, you see the whole script for the drama. You understand.

You still participate in the story, but now you participate joyously, consciously, and fully. You can make choices based on knowledge and born out of freedom… What is even more thrilling is that we are capable of rewriting the play or changing our roles by applying intention, grasping the opportunities that arise from coincidence, and being true to the calling of our souls. (P.90)

Idea #3 The power of Intention:

In order to notice something, we have to ignore everything else.

Focus vs noise.

Intention orchestrates infinite possibilities. The foundational technique of manifestation is that for every intention, we ask, “How would this serve me and how would it serve everybody I come into contact with?”

It is this sense of interconnection and inseparability, realizing the co-creating and co-arising nature of everything, that makes life miraculous.

Whenever we take action, we have the attitude that we are not performing the action; Our actions are really the actions of nonlocal intelligence, the organizing universal spirit. Allow ourselves to be guided and be the conduit of expressions of that intelligence. As we get less attached to the results, anxiety diminishes.

The 7 Principles of Synchrodestiny:

  1. You are a ripple in the fabric of the Cosmos

  2. Through the mirror of relationships, I discover my nonlocal self

  3. Master your inner dialogue

  4. Intent weaves the tapestry of the Universe

  5. Harness your emotional turbulence

  6. Celebrate the dance of the Cosmos

  7. Accessing the conspiracy of improbabilities
